After an employee is coached about their performance, a follow-up meeting should always be scheduled. Even if the employee turns their performance around a full 180 degrees. Especially if an employee turns their performance around. IMHO, the key to improving performance is having an awareness of proven solutions.
I thought about this as I was planning my agenda for this year’s WorkHuman Conference , pioneered by Globoforce. If you want better business outcomes (less attrition, more engagement, higher sales, more profit), then create a better employee experience. As a result, we have to resort to the “no-cost, low-cost program options”.
Over the past few decades, employee engagement has taken center stage by becoming a top priority for global organizations. It was no surprise that Globoforce CEO and co-founder Eric Mosley opened his WorkHuman 2018 keynote this morning by delivering a moment of recognition to attendees. So, when I hear from managers that they have no time to recognize, or show appreciation for their employees , I cringe. Essentially what these managers are saying is, they’re not interested in increasing employee commitment to the cause. They want their employees to feel taken advantage of. When we talk to HR leaders, we hear some common barriers or myths that stop companies from modernizing their approach to employee recognition. One of the things that I took away from this year’s WorkHuman conference hosted by Globoforce is that well-being must be employee centric. They do need to create the environment for well-being to thrive, then let employees embrace it. Technology is a wonderful thing. Allow employees to get their sleep. The reason?
