But when recruitment and onboarding efforts are strategic, comprehensive, and streamlined, these penalties can be avoided because there is continuous communication of organizational goals as well as an emphasis on exemplary patient care (and training to that effect) throughout the employee lifecycle.

During this year’s SilkRoad Connections Conference , Madeline Laurano, co-founder of Aptitude Research Partners , shared that an organization’s onboarding strategy should define the two touchpoints in the employee experience: pre-hire and post-hire. I think the challenge is deciding what should be included.
The reason I’m writing about this is because during this year’s SilkRoad Connections Conference , Ben Eubanks, industry analyst for Lighthouse Research & Advisory , shared that experiences will be the next evolution of employee engagement. And they need to work hard to make sure it doesn’t happen again.
Silkroad released their annual Sources of Hire 2017 report and I always love looking at big sets of data around the source of hire because I think the vast majority of organizations are misallocating their talent acquisition resources in a big way, and this data just gives me more evidence to point to!
Meaning that cultural fit needs to be an important part of the recruiting process. But for some organizations, this can be a real shift in recruiting philosophy. Our friends at SilkRoad recently released a report on “ The Who, How, and Why of Onboarding.” But the distinction is important.
Take recruiting for example. Our friends at SilkRoad understand this and put together a clever infographic on the right ingredients for successful recruiting. Or find a substitute when they don’t have something on hand (like using external recruiters.) HR professionals do the same thing with strategy.
