Self-Management Success: Learn How to Learn (Part 5)

HR Bartender

Even when you work in an office full of people, self-management involves doing a lot of things independently – resolving your conflicts, figuring out the solutions to your problems and creating your most productive work. Self-management also involves thinking about your future and generating your own professional development plan. That’s where knowing yourself comes into play. And, it worked!

Yep.

Everyday People

One of the best aspects of my job in HR is that I get to recognize our Team Members when they hit years of service milestones. wrote about this in the past, but here’s a quick recap. When one of our Team Members hits a 5-year anniversary, I go visit them during the day and shift they work at their location. We keep things simple by bringing them balloons, cookies and a gift card.

Ask a Manager

It’s five answers to five questions. Here we go…. 1. Can a prospective employer ask for a doctor’s note when I don’t even work there yet? I was scheduled for an interview last Friday and missed it due to a miscarriage, which I ended up going to the hospital for. later in the evening sent an apology email and explained it was due to a minor surgical emergency. Today I received an email to reschedule the interview, but the manager is requesting that I bring the hospital discharge papers for the new interview. refuse to have them see why was the reason I missed. Is this legal? Should I quit?
