As a HR pro, I totally understand that the recruitment market is tough. I hear the same stories from recruiters who are posting job openings and getting zero responses. So, we decided to put together a few episodes talking about the intersection of talent and technology. That’s why I wanted to start this mini-season with a conversation about recruitment. It’s time to think about our recruiting long-game. Data and technology can help generate the necessary information to facilitate the process.
In 2020, in spite of the pandemic-related shutdowns and other business impacts, the HR technology industry was within a few M&A deals of the 2019 numbers we were tracking (approximately 50). Some were specifically focused on bringing AI/machine learning talent and/or tools into a technology stack with a deep dataset.
So I thought I would round up a series of posts on something that people just can’t live without these days – technology. Employees use technology to find a job, get onboarded, receive training, and much more. HR technologysolutions are getting more complex by the minute. HR technology is a growing field.
Remember the old iPhone commercial, “ There’s an app for that. ”? There are a lot of apps available to us. Apps for banking, well-being, photography, and of course, games. It could be said that we’ve become an app driven society. Apps can really help us in our personal and professional lives. Apps are great.
One of the somewhat newer technology-related topics to surface is blockchain. It really made me take notice and realize that I need to learn more about what blockchain technology can do for HR and business. Since then, Bitcoin’s value has come back to earth, but the excitement around blockchain as a new technology remains high.
