So what is employee retention, and why exactly does it matter so much? Employee retention is a simple concept; it’s the act of keeping, or retaining, employees that are hired to work in your company. The flipside of retention is turnover, which is the word used to describe employees exiting a company, either voluntarily or involuntarily.
