Employees Need to Own Their Success
During the HR Technology Conference , I was chatting with someone about job titles. She had heard the most interesting title – Vice President of Employee Success. It didn’t sit well with me then and the more I think about it…it still doesn’t. My apologies if this is your job title, but I do have to take exception to this one. Creating an engaging and productive workplace is everyone’s job.

It’s on: the #HourofCode is here
“There’s definitely a perception that programming is difficult, but it really, really isn’t,” explains Pearson author Tony Gaddis in the Joy of Coding video above: and he should know, having written many books on the subject. It sounds impenetrable and perhaps offputting – even the word ‘code’ sounds like something intentionally difficult that requires cracking – but if you’re able to read this sentence, you’re already part-way there. CEO’s daughter gets special treatment, I almost fainted during a meeting, and more
It’s five answers to five questions. Here we go…. 1. CEO’s daughter gets special treatment. just started working for a new company, and it’s a small, family-owned investment firm. Everyone here is really nice, but I noticed one thing that I thought was kind of strange. The CEO/owner’s daughter is an employee here (she sits in the same cubicle area as me), and as far as I know her role isn’t any different than anyone else’s (aside from being the CEO/owner’s daughter). We all get 30 minutes for lunch, but she’s been taking breaks over 1.5 Any thoughts? MORE >>
