Marching on with NorthEdge March’s big news was the completion of a primary MBO into Cezanne HR by respected private equity firm NorthEdge. Their backing came off the back of an increased global demand for HR software solutions – something which Cezanne HR’sglobalHR suite and payroll services are perfectly placed to provide.

I’ve had a long standing interest in the field of sourcing (finding people who might be a good fit in your organisation / role vs recruiting – trying to get these same, but unknown people to send you their CVs), really ever since we developed the idea into an approach we called head farming when I was an HR Director at Ernst & Young.
Its the best show because of the terrific line-up, and quite simply because of its agenda - talent, technology and social enterprise - these just are the biggest issues / opportunities in HR today. BersinIMPACT: Agile HR. As well as career development , performance management , recruiting and learning , the two key themes of the conference were probably big data, and agility. The CIPD does understand this – which is why it has produced the report I describe in my last post ( Peter already gets it too ) - but the institute also needs to put much more focus into this new agenda – eg it needs to be a big focus in the annual conference (see below). I think that’s a mistake.

Note in particular the 10 conference organiser tweets about the sponsor organisation! To me, the future for conferences is going to be much more about paying people to tweet - or at least encouraging them to do so - rather than being paid to tweet on their behalf.
