How SaaS-y is your HR software vendor? What does SaaS mean to you?

Josh Bersin

The term SaaS (Software as a Service) has become a hot topic among HR and L&D software providers. In fact, many of the HR software buyers use stories about their “SaaS-iness” as their major selling points. To try to help demistify this topic, I’d like to take some time to explain what SaaS means to. Read more» The post How SaaS-y is your HR software vendor?

"Fill the Gap": A Flickr Learning Activity?

The Bamboo Project Blog

Through a really excellent article about how the Smithsonian is embracing social media, I ran across their "Fill the Gap" project, in which they used Flickr to engage the public in finding a piece of art from their collection to "fill the gap" to be left by a painting that will go into storage. This also seems like a really fun learning and community-building strategy to me.

Enterprise 2.0: Skip the Pilot

Transparent Office

Get out your pitchforks, I'm about to commit Enterprise 2.0 heresy. There's an orthodoxy in Enterprise 2.0 circles about how you're supposed to run an implementation. (A good recent articulation of this view is in Chris McGrath's recent post on 8 Tips for a Successful Social Intranet Pilot.

Informational Interviews

I work at an organization where our managers do informational interviewers without talking with HR. Our policy per our AAP states that we only accept applications and interview candidates for open positions. For those of you who have never had the pleasure, an AAP is an Affirmative Action Plan and is required by the good old Federal Government for some companies.
